Columbia, SC (WLTX) - As WLTX first reported , the personal information of millions of South Carolinians was compromised when a hacker accessed Department of Revenue records.

Because of the hack, the state is offering services to people who are affected by the security breach.

Anyone who has paid taxes since 1998 is vulnerable.  

You can sign up on the phone completely, or you can use the website listed below. Just type in "scdor123" as the activation code.

Call -1-866-578-5422. The call center is open 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM EST on Monday through Friday and 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST on Saturday and Sunday.

You'll be asked to sign up for one year of free credit monitoring, and you'll be asked to give some personal information. But representatives told us that you won't have to give any credit card information and the service will automatically cancel itself out after a year.

Haley went on to say that potentially 657,000 businesses information may have been compromised in this hack.
