Columbia, SC (WLTX) - South Carolina superstar defensive end Jadeveon Clowney could miss this Saturday's Garnet and Black Spring Game.
The rising junior has a neck sprain according to athletics officials. Defensive Coordinator Lorenzo Ward, however, says he's not terribly concerned that Clowney may not be able to play.
"His neck and back is still stiff. Whether he goes another snap (this spring), I don't care," Ward said.
Clowney was a unanimous All-American this past season, and set the school record for sacks (13.0) and tackles for a loss (23.5). He's considered a contender for the Heisman Trophy, a rarity for a defensive player to be talked about for that award.
