Newberry, SC (WLTX) - A manhunt in Newberry County is over after officials say the two men have been caught.
The Newberry County Sheriff's Department says Newberry police were called to a parking lot Monday near Louis Rich and Wilson Roads where Donald Dwight Knowles II and Ernest Laverne Bolin were trying to sell a chainsaw. Police ran the tags on the car they where driving, and realized the vehicle was stolen.
The two men took off, but because of the rain, their car got stuck in a yard, so they jumped out of the car and ran.
Officials say the stolen vehicle was from Aiken, and they think there were more stolen items in the car.
Bolin has been charged with party to a crime, giving false information, failure to stop for a blue light, and reckless driving. His bond hearing is expected to be Tuesday.
Knowles has been charged with party to a crime. His bond is on hold due to other charges pending against him from Newberry police.
