Man Hit with Pistol, Carjacked

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies are investigating a carjacking where the suspect hit the victim with a gun.

The incident took place Sunday at 8:45 p.m. on Stoneridge Drive.

Officers say the victim was parked and was waiting for a relative to meet him. Deputies say he was rear-ended by a black Chevy Tahoe, and after the collision, a woman got out of the SUV and started speaking with him.

Investigators say two men then got out of the Tahoe as well and began arguing with the victim. They then pulled out a gun and robbed the victim of his car keys and wallet.

One of the suspects hit the man with the gun, knocking him unconscious. The victim was later taken to Palmetto Baptist for treatment.

The stolen vehicle was a 2006 Chrysler 300 with South Carolina license tag number HRX 721.
