Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police have charged a man they say was drunk when he ran into a brick retaining wall near the fountain in Columbia's Five Points.

William Daniel Inbody, 21, is charged with DUI and unlawful urination.

The incident took place just before 2:30 a.m. at the fountain in the 700 block of Saluda Avenue.

Police say they found a car with heavy front-end damage and damage to the brick structure around the fountain.

Officers say they found Inbody behind the vehicle with his pants down. An incident report states that an officer tried to perform a field sobriety test on Inbody, but he wasn't able to stand for a long enough period of time.

The report goes on to say that the breathalyzer test showed he had a blood alcohol content of .22, over double the legal limit. Officers say Inbody urinated in bushes near the officer during the incident.
