Deputies: 2 Brothers Arrested For Stealing Tools

LEXINGTON, SC (WLTX)--Lexington County Sheriff's Department detectives arrested three men on Wednesday, December 5 in connection with the theft of tools worth more than $8,000.

According to deputies two of the men, brothers, broke into a business on Lott Court near West Columbia on Tuesday, December 3.

Detectives arrested Christopher Todd Taylor, 28, of  Pelion, on arrest warrants on charges of second-degree burglary and grand larceny. 

Taylor was being held on Thursday at the Detention Center on bail totaling $25,000.

Also arrested was Cliffton Scott Taylor, 26, of  West Columbia, on arrest warrants on charges of second-degree burglary and grand larceny, Metts said. 

Cliffton Taylor was being held Thursday at the Detention Center on bail totaling $25,000.   Cliffton Taylor is the brother of Christopher Taylor.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said detectives also arrested Charles William McCorkle, 42, Pelion, on an arrest warrant on a charge of receiving stolen goods.

McCorkle was released from the Lexington County Detention Center on Thursday, December 6 after posting a $10,000 bond.

Arrest warrants allege that at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday Christopher Taylor and Cliffton Taylor broke into a business at 177 Lott Court by removing a window. 

The Taylors stole tools worth more than $8,000 from the business. The tools included one Stihl weed eater, one Wacker chop saw, one Husquavarna Farm Boss chain saw, one Stihl bush hedger, one Stihl edger, one laser, one Dewalt demolition hammer and one jumping jack.

An arrest warrant also alleges that McCorkle received the stolen tools from the burglary at the Lott Court business, Metts said. Detectives recovered the stolen tools at McCorkle's home.
