Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies have arrested a man they say stole a woman's car and briefly took her baby.

Eriva Youmous Jr., 41, is facing charges of assault and battery, grand larceny, and kidnapping, according to the Richland County Detention Center's website.

Deputies say on January 6th, Youmous stole a woman's car as she was dropping off a movie at a Red Box located on Parklane Road.

After he took the car, deputies say Youmans realized the woman's baby was in the vehicle. He took the child to the Quality Inn on Two Notch Road, deputies say, and dropped the child off in the lobby. Employees of the motel then called deputies.

Eventually, officers found the vehicle and Youmans on Duke Hill Road and arrested him. Officers took the mother to her child, who was unharmed.
