Prosperity, SC (WLTX) -- Prosperity German restaurant Gasthaus Zur Elli is in the running to become "The Best German Restaurant in America," but they need your help to get the title.
Gasthaus Zur Elli is competing against a pool of 410 German restaurants, and as of Friday afternoon, they are fifth in the running.

Voting for the contest closes on Sept. 1, and a winner will be announced after that.
"This is Germany. If I get a Budweiser here I say this is an imported beer. Whatever you think of Germany I can fix. It's all authentic, and I make it from scratch," said the owner who calls herself Miss Wendy.
The restaurant, which was established in 1999, specializes in pork schnitzel, wiener schnitzel, Jaeger schnitzel, wild boar, trout, chicken, rabbit, red cabbage, home fries, Kartoffelbrei, Sauerbraten, Roladen, Rindfleisch, Rinderbraten and other traditional German entrees.
"Some customers say Miss Wendy can I lick the plate? I say turn around so no one can see and lick it," said Miss Wendy.
"I tell you it is fabulous so far. I spent six years in Germany and this is great. This is really like it is back in Germany," said patron Dan Baxa.
