COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina drivers could show their Gamecock pride with special license plates commemorating the baseball team's national championship under a bill approved in the House.
The proposal passed Tuesday honors the University of South Carolina's 2010 team that won the College World Series.
The bill specifies the plates issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles would cost an additional $75. The money would go to the college's alumni association.
The championship plate is among a slew of special plates in the bill. Others would honor veterans, recognize educators, support libraries and show a love for beach music. One of the plates for outdoor sports would read "Coon hunters."
The bill requires another perfunctory vote before heading to the Senate.
