Greenville, SC (WLTX) -- Clemson University recently was awarded a U.S.D.A. grant that will allow them to partner with Orangeburg-Calhoun Tech, along with Trident Technical College, to build food science and technology programs.
According to a report by the Columbia Business Report, the five year grant will bring nearly $440,000 to the schools to establish the program, and will provide the financial support for recruiting, training, and mentoring students participating in the program.
The program will focus on food sciences, and last for two years at one of the two technical colleges, prior to the students transferring to Clemson to finish their food science degree.
