Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police say a search for possible marijuana led them to discover nine gambling machines inside a home.

Officers say on Thursday, they got a drug complaint from the community, which led them to a home on Mount Vernon Street. The incident report states the officer smelled what he thought was marijuana in the home, and asked the homeowner 51-year-old Lillian Johnson, if he could search the place.

Inside a closet, the report states the officer found a green leafy substance which field tested for marijuana. However, as he kept looking, he reported that he found six gambling machines in a bedroom and three in a dining room.

The report goes on to state that Johnson admitted operating the machines but said she did not own them.

Johnson was taken into custody and booked at the Richland County Detention Center.
