Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The braille challenge brought 42 students from across the state to Columbia Thursday.
The kids competed in tests in Braille speed and accuracy, along with reading comprehension. It's all graded and the top 60 scores nationwide go to the national competition in Los Angeles.
The competition is to promote Braille literacy.
After the tests were graded, 16 year old Ryan Uhle of Aiken won first place overall for the second year in a row. We won't know until spring whether his score qualifies for nationals, but he did make it to nationals last year.
