Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Keeping kids safe when on the internet is so important, but it can be tough when the kids know more about computers than their guardians.
Tuesday morning, a special event aimed at grandparents was held to teach online safety tips. The hour long presentation was hosted by the state's Crimes Against Children Task Force.
It gave participants tips on what kids should and should not be doing online.
Among the tips given for grandparents today were keeping the family computer in a common area of the house, not in a bedroom, knowing who kids are communicating with online, and if your grandchildren are on a social network, having them friend you so you can keep track of what they are up to.
