Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police have arrested one suspect and are searching for another after an armed robbery Tuesday morning.

Around 11:15 a.m. officers began chasing two suspects after they got a report of an armed robbery at Mims Jewelry in the 6700 block of Garners Ferry Road.

According to police, one armed suspect entered the store and demanded that everyone get on the ground. The second suspect then smashed a glass counter and stole jewelry.

No one was hurt. Three people were inside the store at the time.

Multiple police vehicles could be seen going up and down Garners Ferry Road and Leesburg Road during the pursuit.

The suspects' vehicle then crashed on Pennington Way, which is just off Leesburg. It collided with another car, and one of the vehicles hit a fence. Officers say that's where the suspects jumped out of the vehicle.

One of the men was later arrested near Interstate 77. The other suspect got away.

Police are checking surveillance video to see if they can get images of the suspect who's at large.
