Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Columbia Police Department is providing the knowledge women need to protect themselves from or during a violent crime with a free self-defense class.
The self-defense class instructors are members of CPD's Special Victims Unit. The unit devised a program last year after receiving self-defense inquiries from crime victims.
Participants are asked to wear comfortable exercise clothes, a towel, plenty of water and a snack. The class is available to females ages 13 and older.
There are a few slots left for the April class, however additional classes will be available for the rest of the year.
