Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies are looking for a man they say assaulted his wife with a box cutter.

Officers want to find 35-year-old James Christopher Shawver of Gaston.

Officers say Thursday night, Shawer got into a argument with his wife at their home. During the fight, officers say he cut his wife on the arms with the box cutter, and she ran out of the room.

Deputies say he caught up with her outside, then dragged her by the hair into the woods. According to officers, he told his wife that he would kill her.

She got away a second time, but deputies say he caught up with her again and stabbed her in the neck. Officers say he grabbed her by the hair and drug her into his car.

However, a short time later, deputies say she jumped out of her car along Tamara Lane and ran to a neighbor's house to get help.

Paramedics took the wife to the hospital where she was last listed in serious condition. Detectives later recovered the car in a ditch off Pooles Mill Road near Swansea.
