Columbia, SC (WLTX) - As they move out of their dorms for the Summer, University of South Carolina students are donating their unwanted items to charity.

It's part of the "Give it up for Good" program.

Students are giving away clothing, furniture, and appliances.

University Housing will collect the items and hold a charity yard sale May 18. The event will benefit Habitat for Humanity, Harvest Hope, and Palmetto Place Children's Shelter.

Last year, more than 30,000 pounds of goods were collected from students.
