Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) -- A driver was pronounced dead after his pickup ran off the road and caught fire in Kershaw County.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck that occurred Monday morning at 10 on Mill Creek Road in Kershaw County.

According to Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Brent Kelly, the driver was the only occupant of a north-bound pickup truck that left the right side of the road, hit a tree, and caught fire.

The driver, a 32 year old unidentified man from Cassatt, was partially ejected from the truck, due to not wearing a seatbelt, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
