CPD: Arrest Made in Five Points Stabbing Incident

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- An arrest was made Monday of one individuals suspected of stabbing two Five Points bar employees over the weekend.

According to Columbia Police, 38-year-old Stewart Randall Ard has been arrested and charged with two counts of 2nd degree asault and battery, and two counts of 1st degree assault.

Ard is one of four possible suspects sought following a weekend stabbing at 1AM Sunday, July 28th at 'Group Therapy' located at 2107 Greene Street in Columbia's Five Points neighborhood.

Police say Ard turned himself in, and is believed to be the individual who stabbed the victims after he and another suspect were asked to leave the business due to their behavior.

Ard left the business, but police say he then returned to allegedly commit the crime, along with another suspect who is accused of punching the victims immediately prior to the stabbing.

The two stabbing victims injuries did not appear to be life threatening. 

According to Officers, Ard allegedly attempted to stab two more males as they pursued him on foot.

Ard is expected to be transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center for processing.
