Teen Raises Money For K-9 Body Armor

Lexington, SC (WLTX) -- Leeam Stein, a 14 year old Lexington resident, raised money for the Heroes Vest Fund, Inc., to provide the body armor for Forrest, a LCSD K-9 bloodhound.

Sheriff James R. Metts recognized Stein with a certificate of ppreciation for his act of kindness in raising the money, $2,300, for a custom-made body armor vest.

The Heroes Vest Fund was created by Elaine Henderson to provide body armor for all K-9 police dogs working in South Carolina. 

Stein, the son of LCSD Reserve Deputy David Stein, raised the money for Heroes Vest Fund through donations for Forest, K-9 to handler Nick Parker with the LCSD.
