Columbia, SC (WLTX) - On Tuesday, Webber Elementary kicked off an anti-bullying event for the students.
October is national bullying prevention month.
For one mom, Edna Rosenborough, the assembly was especially important.
"I made sure I got off of work for this ceremony," Rosenborough said. "I need to make sure he doesn't get bullied."
Her son, Lorenzo was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and thinks Eastover is the best place for her son.
Dreher High School cheerleaders also shared stories of being bullied.
The school's main goal: to teach students the importance of treating others with respect.
Rosenborough is thankful that the school held this event to put an end to bullying.
