USC Students Studying Super Bowl Commericals

Columbia, SC (WLTX)- It is that time of year, and Super Bowl commercials will be shown this Sunday.

While football fans enjoy watching the game with pizza and wings others will be closely watching the ads.

University of South Carolina Advertising Professor Bonnie Drewniany teaches students about Super Bowl commercials. She said the commercials reflect what is going on in our culture.

"It tells the story of American society," Drewniany said.

Super Bowl watchers will also be flocking to social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.

"Social media is very important this year," Drewniany said.

She also said that she things companies are playing it safe when it comes to the ads. The most popular commercials so far among students is the Doritos commercial with the ostrich.

USC said they want the communities input on the SuperBowl ads. You can go to the website and vote here. Students will also be using the hashtag #UofSCAdPoll.
