Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The two earthquakes over the weekend have many people in South Carolina wondering about why we experienced them.
CBS News Contributor Michio Kaku, a physics professor at the City College of New York, talked about the SC earthquakes during CBS This Morning.
A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook near Edgefield Friday night and was followed by another 3.1 aftershock on Sunday.

Kaku says the earthquakes we experienced are very different from the ones that California frequently experiences. He says the SC earthquake took place inside the continental plate, where the ones in California are typically two plates shifting.
