Irmo, SC (WLTX) - Irmo boys soccer team lost their bid for an undefeated season and a state title, after they were defeated Saturday night in the championship game 3-1 by Wando.

Wando first got on the board with an amazing play. Brandon Buckholder did a flip throw inbounds, whiech Hamilton Carlin then scored on with a header.

On the heels of the that spectacular goal, Irmo tried to clear but goalie Rob Sullivan couldn't corral the ball, and Carlin scored again.

In the 57th minute the Jackets broke though when Matt Sieverding headed home the inbounds pass.

Wando, though, would score again to secure the win.

Irmo finished the year with a 24-1 record.
