Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - Eleventh Circuit Solicitor Donnie Myers has paid a ticket for an open container violation he received last month.
According to Lexington County Traffic Court Administrator Colleen Long, Myers paid the $155 ticket, which means a scheduled court appearance on Thursday is no longer necessary.
Back on May 25, a state trooper pulled over Myers after the officer reported Myers was driving in the center line of the road.
Dash cam video of the incident was later released after media outlets, including WLTX, filed a Freedom of Information Act request.
In the video, Myers tells the officer that he was listening to a University of South Carolina baseball game at the time he was pulled over.
When asked by the officer if he'd been drinking, Myers responded that he had "a drink or two." The officer asked what was in the cup found in his vehicle, and Myers said it was scotch.
On the recording, Myers first says the drink belonged to a state senator, then said it was his girlfriend's.
Myers was given a test to see if he could follow a moving pen with his eyes. After several minutes back inside his patrol vehicle, the officer returned and cited Myers on the open container charge.
The incident report from the stop states that the officer determined Myers was not under the influence.
So far, Myers has not responded to requests for a statement regarding the stop.
