USC School of Medicine Hosts Clyburn Panel

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The University of South Carolina is hosting a panel of experts speaking on health disparities and blood cancers.
Thursday's scheduled discussion is the sixth session of the annual Health Disparities Lecture Series named for U.S. Rep. James E. Clyburn.
The panel features Dr. Cristina Gasparetto from Duke Medical and Dr. Virginia Daguise of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Also speaking are Thomas Goode, an advocate and multiple myeloma patient, and Dr. Ken Bridges, senior medical director for clinical science with Onyx Pharmaceuticals.
Moderating the discussion is Vicki Kennedy, vice president of the Cancer Support Community in Washington.
The talk begins at 6 p.m. at the medical school.
