(WLTX) --- For the first time in his PGA Tour career, Tommy Gainey will play the weekend in a major.
Gainey struggled in his second round, shooting a 4-over par 74. But his opening round of 1-under 69 gave him just enough of a margin for error that the Bishopville native will indeed be spending the weekend in Rochester, New York.
Gainey has never made the cut in a major, but that will change this week at the 95th PGA Championship.
