Clemson, SC (WLTX) - Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the vandalism of Clemson's iconic Howard's Rock.

Officers announced Friday they'd arrested 46-year-old Michael J. Rogers and 17-year-old James Gainey with felony counts of conspiracy and obstructing justice.

Arrests warrants state Rogers and Gainey conspired in the plot to damage the rock and made false statements to investigators.

Back on June 2nd, officers say 18-year-old Micah Rogers, Michael Rogers' son, broke the casing that protects the rock, then took a small portion of the monument. Previous Coverage: Suspect Charged in Howard's Rock Vandalism

Micah Rogers was arrested on June 28th.

The rock was first brought to Clemson in 1919 from Death Valley, California. In one of the most famous traditions in college football, Clemson players rub the rock for good luck before running onto the field at home games.
