(Kershaw County) - An Elgin man is dead and authorities are looking for another after an apparent drowning. Officers with the Department of Natural Resources say 38-year-old Darroll Ray was with three friends in a boat Saturday night on the Lake Wateree River. That's when the boat began to take on water. DNR officials say three of the men made it out of the river but Ray did not. Divers recovered his body around 11:30 Sunday morning. Authorities say one of the men, Steven Humphries of Lugoff-Elgin, fled from the scene because of some outstanding warrants out on him. He's wanted for questioning on the drowning. You're being asked to call the Department of Natural Resources at 955-4000 if you know Humphries' whereabouts.
