(Columbia) - News19 has learned that USC Coach Steve Spurrier met Tuesday with a recruit who withdrew his committment to Gamecocks recently.
Spurrier spoke with Gary Gray and Gray's mother.
We reported Monday that the Head Ball Coach cut short his vacation to meet with the rising senior from Richland Northeast High School. We're told the meeting lasted about 45 minutes, but that no decision on a committment was made.
Gray pulled back from his committment after talking with Notre Dame officials. He says he's now looking at the Gamecocks or the Fighting Irish.
USC will continue to recruit Gray and other defensive backs.
Gray, who also plays quarterback for the Cavaliers, is projected as a college cornerback.
Gray said Sunday he will decide between USC and Notre Dame after official visits. He plans to check out the Gamecocks September 9th when they host Georgia. He'll then go to Notre Dame the following week when they host Michigan.
