NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- State police and the Charleston County coroner's office are investigating the death of a man shot in the leg and later shocked by a police officer's Taser.
Thirty-five-year-old Jermaine Broomfield of North Charleston died yesterday at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital.
Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal says it's unclear what caused Broomfield's death. But she says it's unlikely the leg wound was fatal.
Police have arrested two people in the shooting. Twenty-year-old Terrell Maurice Archield is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and possession of a gun during a violent crime. Eighteen-year-old Eric Roshard Nathaniel is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.
The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating.
