Police: Two Men Wanted in Separate Incidents

Columbia (WLTX) -- Columbia Police are asking for the community's assistance in locating two known gang members who were involved in two separate incidents Monday night.

The first wanted person is 21-year-old Jameel Daru Anderson.  He's wanted on charges of Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill and Possession of a Firearm during a Violent Crime.

Officers say around 6:30 p.m. Monday, Anderson fired several rounds from a handgun at a male victim on Colleton Street.  The victim was hit twice, once in the hip and the other in the leg.  He was transported to Palmetto Richland Hospital, where he underwent surgery. He has since been released.

The second wanted suspect is 21-year-old Raheem Fitzgerald Bethel. He is wanted for Pointing and Presenting a Firearm.  Officers say around 8:40 p.m. Bethel, while in a vehicle, presented and pointed the handgun at multiple victims in another car.  Authorities say no shots were fired. The incident occured while the two vehicles were traveling down Two Notch Road.

Police Cheif Tandy Carter stated, "that we [Columbia Police] are working with the communities in each of the incident locations to locate Anderson and Bethel and with the assistance from Crimestoppers we hope to receive information on their whereabouts."
