Columbia, SC (WLTX) - USC forward Dominique Archie is out indefinitely with a right knee sprain, an injury suffered during a game Sunday.
South Carolina Head Basketball Coach Darrin Horn confirmed the news Monday. Archie, a senior, was injured during the first half of the team's loss to the Miami Hurricanes Sunday. Related Story: Gamecocks Lose to Hurricanes
Horn says Archie will be re-evaluated later. "Dominique Archie is one of the hardest working players I've coached, and I'm confident he will work just as hard in his rehabilitation with this injury as he does on the court," Horn said in a written statement. "As a family, this is a time when we will pull together and continue to work toward our goals in his absence."
Archie is the team's second-leading scoring with 14.4 points a game, and he averages six rebounds a game.
