Lake Murray, SC (WLTX) - A fourth person has died following two separate boating accidents Saturday night on Lake Murray.

Coroner Gary Watts confirms Monday that 36-year-old Randall Carter of Irmo died. Related link: Boating Accident on Lake Murray Leaves Several Dead

In the first collision around 10:15 p.m., 24-year-old Amber Golden from Skyline, Alabama and 25-year-old Kelli Bullard of Lexington both died of injuries after their boat was struck by another vessel.

Robert McCullough with the Department of Natural Resources says less than 30 minutes after the first accident and less than a mile away, another collision occurred on the water near Lighthouse Marina and Lake Murray Marina.

Investigators say 21-year-old Matthew Howk of Columbia was killed when his Jon boat was struck by another vessel. Carter was on that same boat.

Investigators are doubtful if safety gear could've saved those lives lost on the lake.

McCullough says the investigation now turns to the condition of the boats. He says the damaged boats include a 23' Key West, 23' SeaPro, 20' Sylvan and a 14' Jon Boat. McCullough says the boats had motors that ranged from 25 to 225 horse power.

He adds the investigation will also include what other factors could have led to the collision.

DNR says already this year there have been 11 boating fatalities across the state. That ties all of last year.
