Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A sudden, intense rainstorm Monday afternoon led to flooded streets in parts of Columbia.

We received pictures from a viewer who snapped pictures at 300 Main Street. It shows water up above the wheels of cars parked in a lot.

Police had to block off select streets in 5 Points due to the flooding. Several vehicles stalled at the intersection of Blossom and Saluda Streets from people who tried to drive through the flooded streets.

It appears the problem was made worse by clogged storm drains. News19 saw street crews and business owners pulling leaves out of the drains.

WLTX.com will have more information when it becomes available.
