Manning, SC (WLTX) - Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Alvin Greene's new manager says she wanted to lead his campaign because she says his honesty is refreshing.
Greenville Attorney Suzanne Coe approached Greene about running the campaign. Previous Coverage: Alvin Greene Gives First Speech as U.S. Senate Candidate
"If Alvin tells you he's hiking the Appalachian Trail, he really would be hiking the Appalachian Trail," Coe said. "You can believe what he says. He wants to do the job because he thinks things are really wrong, and it's not for his own self-interest."
Earlier this week, Greene dropped Donna Warren, who was based in Los Angeles.
This isn't the first time Coe has been involved in a high profile effort. In the 1990s, she represented Shannon Faulkner as she tried to become the first female cadet at The Citadel.
Greene shocked the political world in June when he won the Democratic primary over Vic Rawl. At the time, Greene had no organized campaign, and did not even have a website.
