Columbia, SC (WLTX) - According to a new study based on tweets, South Carolina is not the place to be if you want to be happy.
University of Vermont researchers looked at more than 10 million tweets from 2011 to map out the moods of Americans.
They ranked locations based on frequency of positive and negative words used. Our state comes in at number 10, tied with North Carolina and Ohio.
Louisiana, Mississippi, Maryland and Delaware top the list. The happiest state was Maine.
