(WLTX) - Two guys...have two guns...and too much ammo! But which side of the law are they on? I'll just say that each works for a larger force.
Despite their Butch and Sundance rapport, they are completely unaware of the other's biggest secret. And, when they can no longer turn to their backup, they can only turn to each other. Will two guns be enough? In these guys' hands, it's plenty!
As expected, the film is loaded with stylized gunfire and explosives. There are also any number of turns and twists along the way. Bill Paxton plays one of the craziest villains I've seen in a long time and the banter between the leads is nearly sublime. So why isn't the movie any better?
Sometimes a lot of good ingredients still adds up to a mediocre dish - and that's what we're served in "2 Guns." It's not a bad movie. But you're likely to leave saying, "I was hoping that would be better." That gives it a score of par for the summer of 2013. Another worthy rental.
