Driver Charged with DUI in Deadly Crash

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The Newberry County Coroner has identified the man involved in a deadly accident in Newberry County Friday night.

Coroner Craig Newton said he is 35 year-old David Thomas Craft of Newberry.

South Carolina Highway Patrol says the fatal crash occurred Friday night on SC 34, about 10 miles east of Newberry.

Investigators say that 29-year-old Michael Livingston of Charleston was driving his pickup truck under the influence around 9:50pm when he slowed to make a left hand turn.

Officials say 35-year-old Charles Stuck was behind the pickup in his jeep and was unable to stop. Stuck crashed into the left side of Livingston's truck.

According to Highway Patrol, Stuck and his passenger, 31 year old Timothy Stuck, were ejected from the vehicle. Both men were taken to Palmetto Richland. Their conditions are unknown.

Craft was not ejeceted from the vehicle and troopers say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Livingston is charged with DUI. Highway Patrol says more charges are expected.
