Washington, DC (WLTX) -- Another group of World War II Veterans will be making the trip from Columbia to Washington, DC aboard an Honor Flight.

The September 26th trip is hosted this time by the Electric Cooperative of South Carolina, and will have 5th District Congressman Mick Mulvaney aboard, traveling as guardian to one of the participants.

Dr. Edward S. "Buddy" Whiteside, a resident of Clover, served in the 414th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army in Germany during WWII.

The Honor Flights are organized and sponsored by various organizations as a way to honor those who served in World War II, by providing them a day-long trip touring Washington, DC and visiting the monuments.
