Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) - Kershaw County deputies have arrested two men they say led them on a high speed chase Thursday night.
Officers have arrested 32-year-old Christopher Murphy and 33-year-old Kendrick Wilson.
Deputies say an officer attempted to pull over Murphy and give him a warning ticket for a faulty headlight. Instead, deputies say, Murphy and Wilson kept driving.
The pursuit started in Camden on U.S. 1 and continued onto U.S. 521 and ended on Interstate 20.
According to officers, the speeds during the chase exceeded 100 miles an hour. In a dash cam video of the chase, the officer can be heard saying they were at a speed of 103 miles an hour at one point on I-20.
During the pursuit, the officer reported several times that he saw drugs being thrown from the suspects' car.
The chase ended when the engine on the suspect's car broke down near the 101 mile marker on the interstate.
Deputies say approximately 40 pieces of crack cocaine as well as a small quantity of marijuana were recovered after the pursuit.
Murphy is being charged with failure to stop for a blue light, DUI, DUS (2nd), possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, simple possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. Wilson is being charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and simple possession of marijuana.
