Lugoff, SC (WLTX) -- INVISTA plans to expand its Camden production facility, creating about 50 new jobs.

The company says it plans to invest about $20 million  more in the facility.

INVISTA supplies fibers for residential and commercial end products and says it will expand its production to better serve its carpet mill customers in the Southeast.

The company says the expansion will begin in early 2013 and should be finished by the first part of 2014. New hires will be phased in as the expansion progresses.

In a news release, Paul Liddle, the Camden site manager for INVISTA, said: "This investment is a direct reflection of the more than 700 hardworking employees who create value for our customers, and we're pleased to be able to add more members to the team. Additionally, we appreciate support of Kershaw County and the South Carolina Department of Commerce for this capital expansion."
