Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Two people are now displaced following a house fire early Monday morning.

According to officials, crews responded to 140 Westbridge Road just before 3 a.m. to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the home.  Though crews contained the fire, the blaze is estimated to have caused $70,000 in damage.

Reports indicate a smoke detector woke up the two homeowners who then were able to leave the house safely.  No firefighters were injured.

The Richland County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
