Minor Late Night Fire at Alcorn M.S. Does Not Affect Classes

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- A fire started at Alcorn Middle School on Fairfield Road in Columbia late Tuesday night, but damage was limited to a dryer in the school.

According to Columbia Fire spokesman Brick Lewis, the fire started in a dryer machine, and caused $60,000 in damage. 

School District spokesperson Karen York stated that the school would run on a normal schedule today.
