Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Heavy rains Tuesday afternoon led to flash flooding in parts of Columbia.
The rain began moving in a little after 3 p.m. After a burst of heavy rain, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the city.
High waters were seen at the usual flood-prone locations: Gervais and Harden Street, Whaley and Main, and Columbia's Five Points. Streets in those areas had traffic detours.
At Whaley and Main, the nearby Rocky Branch Creek got up to just over 10 feet, well above normal.
