(WLTX) --- It didn't take long for Tommy Gainey to go in the wrong direction on "Moving Day" at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn.

A double-bogey on the first hole had Gainey moving down the leaderboard.

However, the Bishopville native didn't panic and with two birdies and two bogeys for the next 10 holes, Gainey was still at two-over par on his round, but at least he was avoiding a disasterous round.

Unlike his second round which ended with a bogey, Gainey ended Saturday with a flourish, recording birdies on 17 and 18 to finish his round at even par.

As a result, Gainey is three shots out of the lead heading into Sunday's final round. More importantly, Gainey has a little bit of momentum that he hopes to continue at the TPC River Highlands.

Bubba Watson, Graham DeLaet and Charley Hoffman are tied for the lead at 10-under.

Live final round coverage on News19 starts at 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
