787 Returns to Airport Over Fuel Pump Issue

BOSTON (AP) - A Japan Airlines flight from Boston to Tokyo's Narita Airport is returning to Boston's Logan Airport because of a possible fuel pump issue on the Boeing 787 aircraft.

A Federal Aviation Administrationspokeswoman says Japan Airlines Flight 7 from Boston to Tokyo, the pilot did not declare an emergency, and the aircraft is burning off fuel before landing.

Richard Walsh, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Port Authority said the plane is returning "in an abundance of caution" after a maintenance message indictor on the aircraft was displayed.

The airline's website said Flight 007 had left for Tokyo just before 1 p.m. Thursday for a flight of nearly 14 hours
