Washington, DC (WLTX) -- We're on your side with a recall on some portable fan heaters sold at Home Depot.
The home improvement store is recalling 107,000 of the Soleil portable fan heaters because officials say the plastic covering on the fan can melt, deform and catch fire during use which could start a fire.
This recall involves Soleil portable fan heaters with model number LH-707. The model number is printed on the underside of the fan on a sticker. The circular table fans are white plastic and are 1500 watts. Soleil is printed on the center front of the fan. The fans have a thermostat control on the bottom left front and a power and fan speed control on the bottom right front. The fans measure about 8 inches in diameter by 8½ inches tall.
The fans were sold nationwide exclusively at Home Depot stores from September 2012 through May 2013.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled fan heaters and return them to Home Depot for a full refund.
