Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- There's a saying that asks, "What would Jesus do?" One group believes he'd be at the South Carolina State Fair.

"Jesus would be eating corndogs and eating elephant ears. Jesus wouldn't be in the walls, he'd be where the people are because that's who needs him," Kyle Martin said.

Martin came all the way from Texas to find his happy. But he had a bigger mission than finding southern fried fair food.

"Instead of praying for revival, they said let's pray for it but let's pursue it," Martin said.

People from around the U.S. came to the capital city for "Revive Columbia SC." Their goal: Simply asking to pray for people.

Martin had a little help from Janie and H.L. Allen, who helped him get to Columbia.

Janie says it was a match made in Heaven.

"Well you're doing the prayer part and we've been doing some going out, so let's see what the Lord might want to bring us together," Janie said.

"Strangely enough, there will be a handful of people that will be like, 'Prayer? Why do you want to pray for me? I don't need prayer, go back to your own city and pray,'" Martin said. "But I'll tell you there's nothing in it for us except we just want to bless them, it's really received well."

After praying with someone, they're given a bracelet and a Bible.

The focus has been on families.

"Everywhere we go people are crying out they need help for their families particularly, so that's where God has taken us this week," H.L. Allen said.

"We thought what better way just to get to know families, get to know kids and come to the state fair? Where families are coming together so maybe we can find the positives here," Martin said.

While some may find trekking around the State Fairgrounds tiring, the group really enjoys the task.

"We're having fun and sharing Jesus at the same time," Janie said.
