Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- Earlier this week, Steve Spurrier said that a trip to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas would be "neat" because it would be a first for the program and for the coach himself.
On his radio call-in show Thursday night, Spurrier took the opportunity to say that a trip to Florida would not be the worst thing that could happen.
"Today it was 82 degrees in Orlando and about 25 degrees in Dallas," said Spurrier.
"We've got to remember that (the weather) also. It would probably be a lot easier for our fans to just get on the interstate and head south and get to Orlando."
There are numerous reports saying the Capital One Bowl has USC very high on its list. It would mark a return to the bowl that gave Spurrier the first of his 11-win seasons at USC. The Outback Bowl in Tampa is also a possibility, but given the fact that USC was just there, it's unclear if officials with that bowl would go that route again.
It would not be unprecedented as Lou Holtz was 2-2 in two trips to the Outback Bowl. Both wins came against Ohio State.
